Access features

The site has a number of access features that improve the accessibility of the site for many users. Revealing Histories is committed to providing accessible and usable information. However, we regret that not all of the audio material on the site is available in the form of written transcripts. The sheer amount of material recorded during Revealing Histories events has not made this possible.

However we have made the following steps towards accessibility:

All images should have alternative text equivalents to ensure that people who cannot see images can still use the site. If you find an image without alternative text please contact us.
The site has consistent navigation and structure to make it easy for you to find your way around it.
The site is accessible to people using a range of equipment and browsers, including older and lower specification hardware and software, however, if you experience any problems please contact us.
The site uses pages requiring plug-ins only in exceptional circumstances. Where you may need any additional software, we will let you know.
The site tries to use plain language and break text up where possible to make it easier and quicker to read. If there is anything you do not understand or if you require any further help please contact us.
No information is exclusively conveyed using colour.
A site map is available to provide information about the layout of the website.
The BBC's My Web My Way site explains the many ways you can change your browser, computer, keyboard and mouse settings to make the web more accessible for you.

Most documents are available to download in MS Word and PDF format, except where the Word version is a large file. A free PDF reader is available from the Adobe Acrobat website.
